Located at 2775 Monroe Ave, Rochester, NY 14618, Sakura Home operates as a japanese serving Rochester in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Rochester, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across New York run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–2:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Sakura Home at (585) 288-8130; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, sakuraandredsun.com.

Its Google rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 737 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Rochester is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Rochester is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I was very disappointed with our experience at Sakura. The food wasn't the best and did not live up to our expectations. The hibachi experience was also extremely boring. We've been to many hibachi restaurants before, and they're usually fun, interactive, and entertaining. This one had very little interaction, making the experience feel flat and underwhelming. What bothered us the most, however, was how unfriendly the staff was toward our 2-year-old. We understand that toddlers can be unpredictable, and we were doing our best to keep him calm and respectful. Instead of showing patience or kindness, the staff made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. A family restaurant should treat all guests with respect, including young children. Between the disappointing food, the lackluster hibachi experience, and the poor service, we won't be returning or recommending this restaurant.

This review was for the sushi not hibachi. I was hesitant to try this place based on the reviews of poor service etc. I will say we had an amazing server who made accommodations to special order requests. I had the Hanna Roll and sashimi app. Huge pieces of salmon and tuna. Delicious flavor on the roll. I highly recommend this place. We did go soon after opening without reservations and had no issues

Ugh this place has gone down hill. The food is good but not great, tasted like everything took a bath in soy sauce. Atmosphere is inviting and what you would expect for hibachi, but really lacks the entertainment value. I paid 65 for my plate, had a volcano for .2 seconds, and no show. No interaction, no singing, no tricks really just disappointed us all.

It was a nice experience. The hostess checked on this regularly in the gentleman , who cooked their food was very friendly.

Unfortunately it's really gone downhill with the service and quality. Sat 20 minutes waiting to order in the freezing cold. We could actually see our breath. Whatever you do, DO NOT let them seat you by the metal escape door in winter. Even the workers know it's cold in this corner. After ordering, drinks took 40 minutes to arrive (bottled beer and a martini). The martini was underwhelming too. The waitress was extremely inattentive and running off as soon as she could. Someone seated at our table ended up pouring water refills for half the table because the waitress left after only refilling two cups and never returned. Found a sharp bone in my chicken (surprising because it's breast). 8pm reservation & seated but they didn't start cooking until 9 (soup came around 8:35). Really sad because it used to be an awesome experience. It's still fun, but horribly slow service and high prices for the quality.
